Our company has purchased 100 licenses of FireShot Pro. Now we have the challange to deploy them silently to 100 PCs.
1. Problem: Silent Installation The Nullsoft Installer from your exe-file doesn't install the plugin on our Firefox 9.0.1 (even with /S as parameter). Also tried to call firefox with the option firefox.exe -install-global-extension "C:\Temp\fireshot-latest.xpi" I found a solution in making a diff and use the files and ini entries to deploy them in the firefox-profil from the user. 2. Problem: Activation of Fireshot Pro After the installation Fireshot Pro must be manually activated for pro-version. Is there a way to deploy fireshot already activated if we uses elsewhere parameter for "Owner Name" and "License Key"? After a click on using the "Pro" Edition every entry in the fs_fx_settings.ini about owner name and license key are cleared and a new checksum appears, so i think this is you intention. But what is with big companies who have the problem to do the activation of 100 licenses automtically and not by hand? Any help would be appreciated. Greetings from Germany DKL |

Hello, you're on the right way of doing the silent installation - you need to copy the folder {0b457cAA-602d-484a-8fe7-c1d894a011ba} to the "%Appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%profilename%\extensions" folder
Additionally you need to copy the file "%Appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%profilename%\fs_fx_settings.ini" from the PC with FireShot activated. Anything else? __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Are you sure that a copy of the file fs_fx_settings.ini will work? if tried it different times, but it seems that fireshot won't go pro ;-) |

Sure.
You need: - a snapshot of the directory {0b457cAA-602d-484a-8fe7-c1d894a011ba} created upon FireShot Pro NSIS installation. - the file fs_fx_settings.ini copied from the activated copy of FireShot Pro (Firefox should be closed). If you still have this problem, please get back to me and I'll try to make a package for you tomorrow. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

thanks for your fast reply! a copy of fs_fx_settings.ini helps really, but the button "switch to Pro!" won't disapear, even after a copy of the fs_fx_settings.ini. So if the user clicks on it, all license information will be cleared. :-( |

I think the file placed to {0b457cAA-602d-484a-8fe7-c1d894a011ba}/defaults/preferences with the following contents should help:
pref("fireshot.isProMode", true); pref("fireshot.isRegistered", true); __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Really nice! Quick question, what would be the advantage on doing a silent install? |
