| I am thinking about purchasing, but avast keeps telling me that FireShot has a bad reputation and keeps offering to uninstall. Why does avast have issues? | ||

Because the heuristic algorithms in Avast are not ideal. FireShot Pro is safe.

Update: wrote to Avast and provided the last installation file. Got response from Avast:

Hello,
My License stopped working in Firefox 49.0.1 (32 bits). I have latest version of the plugin installed: FireShot Pro 0.98.89. In Chrome it will still validate but in Firefoxt it kept saying: Quote:
The license information for this application is missing or invalid. You must enter a valid license key to use this program. And while typing this messages I tried activating it several times and at once it worked! 
Really weird. Then removed the license from my laptop and tried to activate it on my desktop PC. Same configuration. But then again I cannot validate in Firefox.  and neither after trying many times
What to do? Thanks in advance, Ed. |

Hi Ed. I'm sorry for this problem. Normally, I advice users to enter it exactly as provided, and this advice solves all problems. But I'm sure you're doing it correctly.

| I've just used the chrome extension on the www.secretescapes.com unsubscribe page and the text on the sliders disappear using the extension. Had to use snippet tool to get the right screenshot. | ||

How can I cancel permissions? I just (10 minutes or so) gave the application read/write permissions and would now like to cancel them. I have never noticed this before, but this time I *did* need the screenshot.
Not that I don't fully trust the app and developers, but for how infrequently I use the tool (which is why I have not made a purchase (sorry), I'd like to enable these permissions on a one-time by on-time basis. Chromebook running Version 79.0.3945.123 (Official Build) (64-bit) Thank you |

According to our research, this mostly happens when users reinstall Chrome and compress/clean their profiles in browser. This makes FireShot thinking it's been just installed - that's why it asks for the license. The licensing info is stored in the %appdata%\fireshot\settings folder (chrome.ini file for Chrome). My issue is similar to this- it always asks for my key, then it auto-recognizes it. I start a multi-tab capture to PDF, and the save dialog box opens, then crashes. Then it is like it resets and does not see the license anymore. This is happening in Opera, Brave, & Edge, making the save multiple-tabs feature unusable.
i have version 98.97.2, and this has been happening since the last update or so |

repeated "Update to pro"-issue after1-3 screenhots
Dear JK, Since >4 months I get same issue: FS doesn't work after every 1-3 screeenshots, it said FS trial is expired, I had to steady switch (/update) to the Pro version manually (re-install, close all the Thankyou-popups,..thousands times). I don't want to disturb your peace and therefore repeated the switching (to Pro Version) 50-200 times DAILY via BOTH options: "Can I get back.."-link or chosing "Advanced Features",in the hope the issue will disappear for ever from self very soon. But the BOTH options (for switching to Pro-version) have now often disappeared too. I urgendly need your help to get back to my licensed version very soon without steadily reinstalling +switching back to pro version. My key stays in place but I keep getting downgraded to the free version, so annoying. Seems to be no rhyme or reason, it'll work as Pro for a while, then it happens. I run Slimjet browser version 31.0.2.0 (based on Chromium 90.0.4430.93) (Official Build) (32-bit). 2023 and this loss of pro license (i bought a lifetime pro license in 2016) just keeps happening over and over. It is the only software I have encountered in my 35+ years of computer use that has this persistent utterly annoying 'feature'.
Was a fix to this ever found/programed? |
