How can I cancel permissions? I just (10 minutes or so) gave the application read/write permissions and would now like to cancel them. I have never noticed this before, but this time I *did* need the screenshot. The simplest way is to remove the extension and install it again.

I don't see that this glitch has a fix. I have had this recur for years also. Please let me know if there is a patch or work around that I didn't notice in the thread. Hello. According to our research, this mostly happens when users reinstall Chrome and compress/clean their profiles in browser. This makes FireShot thinking it's been just installed - that's why it asks for the license. The licensing info is stored in the %appdata%\fireshot\settings folder (chrome.ini file for Chrome). Another approach you can do (and help us) is to presevre this file and check, whether this file is removed/overwritten at the moment FireShot asks you for the key.

The same problem here: fireshot 0.98.19 Firefox 16 windows 7 I once wanted to try Pro version for 30 days and now it doesn't want to go back to free version again, it keeps asking for license key and doesn't work at all. Reinstalling didn't help.

It happened again! I purchased Fireshot Pro back in May 2012 and I have had problems with it disappearing from my Firefox toolbar. In any case I cannot use it especially when I update Mozilla Firefox. It was working OK for me until tonight when I updated Firefox to version 17.0. Can anyone suggest a fix for this? Do I uninstall and then re-install using my original License Key? I still have the original Lic key but I would like specific instructions to restore Fireshot. Aside from this bug I love Fireshot and would like to continue using it. Please get back to me.

BTW my OS is Win XP and my version of Fireshot simply says Fireshot Pro for Firefox, Seamonkey and Thunderbird.

Sorry folks for my lack of experience. I did find my fireshot Pro version 0.98.19 on my Firefox 17 "my addons" list and it says that it is disabled. Please let me know how to enable it again.

I finally resolved this folks! For anyone experiencing the same problem you can re-enable your Fireshot Pro on Firefox (whatever version you update to) by updating right in the Firefox-->tools-->extensions-->select extension that has been "disabled"--->click the little gear icon and click "update". Firefox will find and update your addon (Fireshot Pro) and you're back in business. Hope this helps someone else in the same boat!

My observation: When I activated the trial version for Fireshot PRO, somehow it looks like it stored that information in a place inside FF which can't be deleted (I can't find the information). I have several times reinstalled and deleted all known install and data folders in Windows, but when FS is installed again, it starts automaticaly in FS PRO-version immediately. It seem that it is not possible to delete the correct data to restart FS from scratch for FS to start up in free mode again. May be this also can be a part of the key problem? Windows 8.0 FS 0.98.48 FF 26.0

I'm posting this every year, I can't make Fireshot to work on my computer at work. Never had any problems at home, but here for last two years I'm trying to use Fireshot and it is always asking me to put the key for PRO version. How can I use free version instead???? firefox: 26.0 Firefox 0.98.47 Win 7 Can someone tell me how to fix this problem??? So annoying!

i have the same bug, but i never activated the trial of Fireshot Pro however i once used the .exe install from website instead Mozilla Addons reinstalling, deleting files, keys in registry... nothing works seems only creating a new ff profile could help FF 38.0.5, Windows 10 Build 10130 btw, if works flawlessly with FF 31 ESR on Windows XP

Problems with Fireshot being updated automatically when the new version came out. I bought the pro version back in May 2012 and had to manually update it whenever either FS or Mozilla Firefox updated for it to work again for me. To date, since Fireshot updated the last time I haven't been able to use it. The message, "Your trial version is up. Upgrade with Fireshot Pro." I have the License Key, please tell me what I have to do to restore my use of the plugin. I cannot update going through the "Tools" option on FF, as I was able to before. Please respond. FS version 98.56 OS is Win XP FF version 29.0.1

Great to see admin finally responding here. Can you let me know if you discontinued free version for Firefox? Can't get it to work for last two years. A lot of people have the same problem. Wehn I start fireshot it keeps asking for the licence key to pro version, and there is no way to say "No thanks use free isntead" or something like that, how can I use free version? It doesn't allow to. Reinstalling didn't help.

Does this work? I accidentally clicked "Switch to Pro!" and now I cannot use it anymore. It always asks me to input the license key which I do not have because I did not purchase this. I'm pretty much happy with the free one. Hope this still has fix. Thanks!
