Update availabe message lets Firebug stop working

Hi!
Currently my Fireshot is not working. Everytime I want to use it, I get the message: "The Update is available, please update the program." If I search for available updates, Firefox is not able to find any. It seems that this happens because the latest version (0.92) is not yet officially verified by Mozilla. The latest official version on the Mozilla add-on page is still 0.91. You can only find the new 0.92 version if you go to the list of all add-on versions. In any case I don't understand why Fireshot is refusing to work when an update is availabe. Why don't you just inform the user about the availabe update and let the software continue to work? The current behaviour seems a bit annoying to me. |

Sorry, got an error in the topic: I mean Fireshot, not Firebug.
P.S.: The update message appears in Fireshot Version 0.91. Browsers used: Firefox 3.6.18 on WinXP SP3 and Firefox 5.0.1 on Win7. The message appears when I use any Fireshot functionality after starting Firefox. After that Fireshot does not work anymore. |

Same problem here, after clicking away the pop up asking for the avaiable update.
installed the available update (https://screenshot-program.com/ Trial Version of Screenshot Studio), clicked the appearing toolbar away, never managed to reactivate it. deinstalled and reinstalled a fresh basic fireshot add-on (FireShot 0.91), same problem still there. Plugin version: FireShot 0.91 Version of Firefox: Firefox 3.6.3 OS type and version: MS windows XP, SP 3 Steps to reproduce the bug: * open FX, try to take screenshot with fireshot and save it, nothing happens. |

Same problem - fireshot does not function on windows 7.
MS Windows 7 build 7600 FF 3.6.17 When attempting to use fireshot, a windows popup box appears. The message is in broken English. It says, "The updates is available, please update the program" You are then redirected to a screen trying to sell you some other product with a 15 day trial period. I have installed and removed fireshot .91 and .87 We have 4 W7 Dell machines in the office. This happens on all machines. |

Same problem. I'm using FF 3.6.15 and have tried to update Fireshot but only get Fireshot 0.91.
When I attempt to screen capture I hear the camera click noise and a page opens to the update page, but I cannot get a screen shot. |

As a temporary solution:
You can manually install version 0.92 from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireshot/versions/ This version is not yet verified by mozilla but it works and stops the update message. It seems that Fireshot is checking if there is a new version, finds the 0.92 one and therefore presents the message to the user. The add-on update functionality does not find the new version because it has not yet been verified and the mozilla add-on page presents the 0.91 version as latest. Hope that helps some people to get their Fireshot working again. BUT: I really don't understand why Fireshot is designed to stop working if there is an update available. That's just annoying! |
