Window 7/64 Ultimate / Firefox 37.0.1 / FireShot 0.98.70
For about a month now, FS has ceased working. The context menu will have options in it, but as soon as I click "save", nothing happens. Even if I choose the select-region feature, it won't start selecting. Thinking back, I've had problems with Firefox Sync recently bringing old settings back. Are there settings (or cookies) that are required to be in place for FS to work? Thanks! |

Please do not try to fix ths if you can: I have some similar complaints on this, but I need to know the problem - can we get in touch in Skype or TeamViewer to diagnose this problem? __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

How do I PM you via this website? I'll send you my email contact.
From there we can then set up contact via AIM/Google chat/a bunch of others....I use trillian. I disabled skype until MS can get their privacy act together, and I never operate with a camera. |

Does your program have a "Diagnostic Back Door" sort of thing, where I can trigger a text dump of all pertinent state that I could then post here? Sort of an in-app "hijack this" sort of thing? |

Is there a reliance upon external javascript library sites that require specific cookie permissions to return the proper scripts? My cookies are selectively set to session, or full access in rare occasions. |

No, FireShot does not use external scripts.
The problem is somehow caused by the last Firefox or FireShot update - I have no proper info because there's nobody to assist me in researching this bug. I need to look at the javascript console when additional logs are switched on to see what's happening. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Well, I need to see whether some errors can be shown in the FIrefox's javascript log. Some additional variables may be required to be set up: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Setting_up_extension_development_environment __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

I'll be glad to help you, but I need a way to contact you directly, without posting any of my contact information here in a forum.
Do you have a PM facility of some kind? Is there a development email that just you use? In the meantime, I've installed https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/extension-developer/ , so I can check out whatever you like. There are no obvious error messages from just the FF-->Tools-->WebDeveloper-->WebConsole ...., but I haven't yet investigated anything in the "extension developer" I just installed. |

Same thing as above. Firehot doesn't select and doesn't do anything else - just sits there. I miss it!!

I just realized I installed the free version of Zonealarm firewall recently. I just now "snoozed" the firewall for 5 min and used Fireshot to select a section of a page. It worked as usual. I've been having browser problems since installation as well. I have to "snooze" it a lot. Maybe I should just strangle it instead! I am constantly getting "server not found" until it sleeps - then I get the page. Zonealarm has historically had a problem playing nicely with others. |

That's weird because FireShot does not produce any network activity unless you ask for it (i.e. for uploading screenshots).
I checked ZoneAlarm and it seems that it is not just a firewall, but it is an anti-virus too. I suspect that it locks the SSS.dll file - the file that provides the main functionality for FireShot. Can you add an exclusion for it and check please? __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

I am having the same problem with FS not responding. I isolated the problem to only secure pages, HTTPS. |

BTW, on my system, it's not isolated to https:// pages, as another user suggested. I apologize for not getting back to you guys sooner. It's been a maelstrom of fires to put out over here. I have some breathing time. Give me an email address to contact you directly, or should I just use the contact email above? |

Hi Thomas,
Thank you for getting back, I'll check Zone Alarm tomorrow. I tried to contact the developers of Zone Alarm, ended up filling dozens forms, but I did not get any response from them. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

JK, there's a free 30 day trial. Can you use that to reproduce the problem?
BTW, I'm not using zonealarm and I have the trouble. |

I have the same problem as above, on all pages, not just https sites.
FireShot 0.98.70 MS WIndows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1, English Firefox 38.0.1 Right-click on a webpage and the context menu appears, along with all submenus, but none of the options work. For example, the feature I use most often, "Copy to clipboard," usually tints the page gray and turns the cursor into a selection tool. This no longer happens. "Entire page" and "visible area" tools no longer work either. The add-on is still working on on my computer on Chrome version 43.02357.81m. |

Guys, I cannot help you without looking at it. If you want to get it solved, please provide me with a TeamViewer ID and a pass key via email (contacts@getfireshot.com).
TeamViewer (https://teamviewer.com) is free for the non-commercial use and it does not require installation. This is the fastest way of solving the problems remotely. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Hi JK,
The error in the error console is following: Code:
Timestamp: 02/06/2015 13:28:04 Error: TypeError: Argument 1 of Document.createNodeIterator is not an object. Source File: chrome://fireshot/content/fsoverlay.js Line: 1726 I don't remember exactly when this started but it wasn't due the FS update and pretty sure this was after Firefox itself update and this apply to all capturing methods. Hope this will help. Regards, snoopy. |

Thank you snoopy for your log! This has provided enough info for me to understand the cause of the problem.
Can you see the "S" button on your navigation panel? This error is triggered when the button is removed from the navigation panel. If you open FireShot settings and check the option "Integrate into: Navigation panel", this problem will be solved. P.S. Some checks will be added in the next version to avoid this problem. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Thank you JK.
This solves the issue, I have no idea how the button disappeared from the navigation panel. Have a good day! Regards, snoopy. |

Well I just came in here to offer some time, and discovered it working.
Was there a bug fix recently? |
