What about adding screencast recording functionality into the app? I'm sure it'll be used frequently!

IMHO, it's the same application, but the Pro version only, of course. Use cases are all the same for static screenshots and videos. At least some other solutions on the market do combine these pieces into one product offer.

I have used www.screencast-o-matic.com successfully for recording dynamic web pages or making tutorials.  You can even use their web only or their downloadable version.  They have a free and a pad version.

I actually do use Screencast-O-Matic now, and the paid 2.0 version is pretty awesome!

The ability to record video is already built into Nimbus (a competitor). Whether or not it's a separate add-on or part of the existing Pro license, please do consider integrating it into a single menu at least.
