Stops Working When Update Available

Using Fireshot version 0.98.2 but this issue has been around for a few versions. In Firefox it will not capture at all after it notifies me there is an update available. Nothing happens when select various capturing options.
This is incredibly annoying and leaves me having to do a print screen into a Bitmap image to avoid from losing what screen data I needed to save before having time to install update and restart browser. XP Pro SP3 Firefox 3.6.27 (yes I know it's old but I like this version) |

RE: Just switch off the automatic updates of the addons in the Firefox prefs.
Under the Firefox Prefs ---> Advanced Tab ---> Updates nothing is checked as far as "automatically check for updates" is concerned. |

| I was directed to update. I went to download the updates, received an error message and now I cannot edit or save anything with the fireshot. Using Chrome and XP . | ||

Hi JK, I don't use either program but here is what happens. Sometimes over the past year or so I will go to do a screen capture using your wonderful Fireshot program and it will open a pop-up notification saying an update is available. After this pop-up Fireshot will no longer capture the screen via any of the options, even after a reboot, until I update to the new version.
Sometimes I need to capture screenshots of temporary/dynamic content so updating isn't an option right then and there... leaving me with only the "print screen option" Hope that helps for when the next update comes around. |
