FireShot Pro cannot capture long ChatGPT conversations completely – PDF archiving broken

Hello FireShot Support Team,

I am a licensed FireShot Pro Lifetime customer, and I would like to report a serious problem that currently prevents me from archiving long ChatGPT conversations as complete PDF documents.

My system:
- FireShot Pro: v2.1.4.18 (64-bit)
- Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Browser: Google Chrome
- Affected website: https://chatgpt.com/
- License: FireShot Pro Lifetime

1. Description of the problem

I use FireShot Pro primarily to preserve long ChatGPT conversations as PDF archives. These documents are important reference materials containing extensive discussions, technical troubleshooting, research, and previously established solutions.

Unfortunately, capturing an entire long ChatGPT conversation no longer works reliably.

When I select the FireShot function to capture the entire page, the process stops after approximately one or two seconds. Instead of capturing the complete conversation, FireShot saves only a small portion.

There is also another serious problem: when scrolling through very long ChatGPT conversations, previously displayed messages may disappear or become unloaded. This results in large blank white sections when attempting to capture the page.

As a result, my PDF archives are incomplete and cannot be used as reliable reference documents.

2. Tests already performed

I have already tested several approaches:

1. Standard full-page capture with FireShot: the capture stops almost immediately and produces an incomplete result.

2. Capturing a very long Wikipedia page: FireShot successfully captures the complete page. This suggests that FireShot's general full-page capture functionality is working.

3. Manually selecting and scrolling through the ChatGPT conversation: this is impractical for extremely long conversations and does not prevent missing content.

4. Using FireShot's selection capture with the Ctrl key to select the relevant HTML scroll container: FireShot recognizes the scrolling area and attempts to capture it, but unloaded ChatGPT content still produces blank sections.

5. Starting captures from different scrolling positions: this has not resolved the problem.

These tests suggest a compatibility problem involving FireShot and the way ChatGPT currently renders and scrolls long conversations. I cannot determine whether the underlying cause is primarily in ChatGPT, FireShot, or their interaction.

3. Why this matters

I purchased a FireShot Pro Lifetime license for approximately EUR 104, specifically because I needed a reliable way to archive long conversations as PDFs.

This is not merely a minor inconvenience. I rely on these archives to preserve important information and avoid losing the results of extensive previous work.

It is particularly frustrating because FireShot can still capture other very long websites successfully, while ChatGPT conversations remain incomplete.

I have also reported the issue to OpenAI's developer community, because a proper solution may require changes on the ChatGPT side.

4. My questions and requests

Could you please investigate this issue and clarify the following?

1. Is this problem already known to the FireShot development team?
2. Can FireShot Pro be adapted to handle ChatGPT's dynamically loaded or virtualized conversation content?
3. Is there an official workaround that has actually been tested with very long ChatGPT conversations?
4. Is a compatibility update being considered?
5. If the problem must primarily be fixed by OpenAI, could your development team confirm the technical limitation so that it can be reported more precisely?

I would especially appreciate a solution that allows me to continue using my existing FireShot Pro Lifetime license. I do not want to purchase another application merely to restore functionality that is essential to my archiving workflow.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this detailed report. I appreciate your work and would be grateful for any technical information or assistance you can provide.

Kind regards,
Mr_Archiving_Storage
