I have the same problem.

Fireshot - latest free version
Windows XP SP2 English
Firefox 3.0

Crashes when I try to use Send By Email and Send to Clipboard, - entire page.

The page contains a static flash-object.

I also have the web-developer addon installed in Firefox, and the display-type set to "Print".

I can crash Firefox with Fireshot every time, so if you need more information, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Thanks

Plugin version (FireShot new)
OS type and version (MS Windows Vista SP1, English)
Version of Firefox (Firefox 3)
Version of explorer (MS I.E 7)

When I installed Fireshot on explorer it emediately started opening windows one after another?
Steps to reduce the bug (open FireShot preferences tryed to tweak options, stopped the crashs by selecting the copy to clipboard option only)

When taking a shot the explorer crashes sometimes, cant find away to stop this!

Its a good thing we have trials and its free? I'd be asking for a refund by now!

The software needs some work yet though the program would be seriously cool if it worked major bug free. and judging by the bug issue's on the support pages i would so a big no at the mo!

FireShot 0.97.1
MS Windows XP Professional SP3, English
Firefox/9.0.1

Recently a box popped up that there was a FireShot update. I clicked on it, went to the site, attempted to download the free update, etc. but it didn't seem to work.

SINCE that time, when I am not even doing anything with FireShot, Firefox crashes.

Then when I restart Firefox, the FireShot update page comes up saying update was successful. It seems to be on AUTO update which I never turned on, and can not find how to turn OFF!!!

There's a 0.98.2 version available, does it work for you?

Fireshot 0.98.12 (although problems with earlier versions too)
Firefox 10.0.2 (although problems with earlier versions too)
Windows XP Home Service Pack 3
Adobe Flash 11.3.300.265

====================================================

Fireshot crashes Firefox when set to send to clipboard or when set to send to an external editor.  Happens only on large pages, although I can't say where the size goes from small-enough-to-manage to large-enough-to-fail.  I just know that small pages seem to process while large ones crash.

It isn't just a problem on one large page - Fireshot fails on countless large pages but if you want one for reproducing the problem, just try this link at TigerDirect.ca:  https://tinyurl.com/7aum9q6

When I click the Fireshot button at the aforementioned link, there is a short delay (as if processing) after which Fireshot unceremoniously shuts down Firefox entirely, regardless of what was open or active at the time.

This problem has persisted for quite some time.  By that I mean I recall having this problem as far back as FF 3.5.5.  But originally the problem only surfaced when using an external editor.  So I was able, for a time, to take snapshots of large pages only to the clipboard, after which I would simply paste the data into my editor of choice.  Strange that the data should reach the clipboard but fail to take the final step for a paste into an editor??? Seems so simple!

Anyway, with the latest forced update (hate those!!!), it even fails when sending to the clipboard.  So as of now, Fireshot truly is SHOT!!!
I can't use it except on small pages and without knowing what's too big, I run the risk of having it shut down my browser each time I try to use it.  So I've stopped using it.

I'm a 21-year IT guy so I'm no slouch but I can't find a way around this.  If anyone has a workaround I'd certainly like to hear about it.  And if it's too long to post here, by all means, feel free to send something to comments(at)maxim-x.com

Evgeny... if you're out there... this started as a great piece of software but it's finishing as something, well - less.  I wish you luck with the large list of bugs (I'll get to some others in another post).

FireShot .0.98.16
Windows XP
Firefox 14.0.1

FireShot crashes Firefox if you try to save an entire page.  When  you click the icon it says bitmap too large and then crashes.   However, if you want to save a selected area, it works fine.

Try with FF 20.0 works perfectly fine.
