| I have Windows Vista and IE 7 and initially I downloaded the free trial to test out to the default program files area. After reading the troublshoot forum, I read to uninstall the program and re-install to the folder C:\Fireshot (instead of C:\Program Files\Fireshot for IE)... Upon reinstallation and opening up new IE browser, I still obtain the error as outlined in Subject line above. Please advise. | ||

Similar problem:
Error: Couldn't create settings file: C:\Documents and Settings\___\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\___.default\extensions\{___}\library\fs_ie_settings.ini Please check your permissions. (anonimized the above by using ___ for user info) Plugin version: FireShot for Firefox 0.80, and FireShot for Internet Explorer 0.80 (note: used FireShot first on FF, used provided option to install on IE, too) OS type and version: MS Windows XP Pro SP3, English Version of Firefox: 3.6.3 Version of Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702 Steps to reproduce the bug: Nothing. All of a sudden, out of the blue, the error appears, while I don't even touch FireShot. The computer appears to hang for a moment, and then the error box pops up. Just now, I had it happen for the first time coming out of hibernation (4 times, 1 for each window?). Initially I didn't even realize it was FireShot related. I don't know why, but it seems to happen when I'm in IE, even while the error message points to the Firefox profile (I generally have IE and Firefox open at the same time). |
