For the past few weeks, I've been getting an error message saying FireShot would have to work in Lite mode, but at least it worked. Today, I didn't get that message, but FireShot isn't working at all, Lite mode or otherwise.
What I've tried: - Taking a screenshot with the keyboard shortcut. FireShot scrolled down the page like it was taking a screenshot, but the Save As procedure never started. Additionally, the page froze at the bottom and could only be unfrozen by refreshing it. - Taking a screenshot by clicking on the Fireshot button. Whether I choose to save, edit or save as PDF after clicking the button, the result is always the same as for trying to take a screenshot with the keyboard shortcut. - Choosing to capture a selected area and selecting the whole page. Again, there is no option to save it. The only difference is that when I try to capture a selected area, I can still scroll the page afterwards, but then it automatically scrolls back down to the end. - Shutting down Chrome and restarting it: no difference, even when I shut it down through Task Manager in the hope of creating an error in FireShot that would make it start up in Lite mode next time. - Uninstalling and reinstalling FireShot (which involved restarting my computer, because it kept refusing to install until I shut down Chrome, even when I could see in Task Manager that Chrome had shut down, and it didn't make a blind bit of difference even when I got the reinstall to work). - Going into all the options in FireShot to see if there was a way to make it run in Lite mode by default, but there doesn't seem to be. - Updating Chrome because when I went to look for browser info to submit this thread, it started downloading updates, but that made no difference. - Switching my router off and back on again because when I got the log, it looked like my internet connection might be to blame (even though other webpages have loaded while I've been trying to do this and the Network Troubleshooter can't identify a connection problem), but the same thing still happens every time I try and take a screenshot. I've spent over an hour trying to get a single screenshot and it still isn't working. What can I do about it? Hello!
Every time I start Chrome browser, it displays the congratulations page and it not is Pro mode. I have to manually switch to Pro mode and select my options again. This is very annoying. Congratulations: FireShot installed! If you can see this page, then everything is ready for capturing web pages! Switch to Pro! Please advise! |

Hello. The TeamViewer app is free and it can be downloaded as a portable version (you don't need to install it).
