Add me to this problem list. I just purchased Fireshot Pro, both for the added features and to see if it solved a problem I had with Pale Moon: no toolbar icon and the browser locked completely whenever I tried to access Fireshot Options.
I reinstalled the Fireshot add-on in Pale Moon in order to insert my licensing information and the locking issue disappeared. But clicking on "Switch to Pro!" gives me the same error viceman lists above, as does accessing any other Fireshot features. I posted about the locking problem on the Pale Moon forum. Below is my post, which includes my specs and a moderator reply. The reply indicates Fireshot 0.98.9 works for him. Are older versions of Fireshot available for download? Fireshot locks Pale Moon, requiring End Process This problem was actually described in a locked topic last year: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=170&p=674&hilit=fireshot#p674 I installed Fireshot, which I've used successfully in many versions of Firefox. But the icon doesn't appear in the tool bar and when I attempt to access Fireshot options, Pale Moon locks solid, requiring a Task Manager End Process. The initiator of the above thread had success installing Better Privacy, but that failed to work for me. I only recently switched to Pale Moon and have had great success to this point. My specs are: OS: Windows 7 x64 SP 1 Hardware: Intel i3 3.2 GHz RAM: 8 GB Browser: Pale Moon 12.2.1-x64 Add-on in question: Fireshot 0.98.11 I'll check with the add-on author. If there is a solution from them, I'll post here. REPLY: Re: Fireshot locks Pale Moon, requiring End Process I'm using Fireshot myself as my choice web capture add-on (0.98.9) and it works without a glitch. Perhaps the latest version isn't fully compatible with the code base used for Pale Moon 12, as a few UI things have changed in Firefox 13. In that case the add-on devs should adjust the minimum required version to 13, so you are informed about it (and can install an older version). |

viceman, are you using a 64-bit FF? I am finding in other threads problems with any 64-bit non-IE browser. Apparently there will be a 64-bit ScreenShot (and I hope FireShot Pro--are they the same?) soon, but I wish they indicated that in their marketing so people can make informed purchasing decisions. |

Viceman, if you're using the 32-bit version of Firefox, the only reason of this problem can be user agent spoofing. You can read about it more here: https://www.dotdoh.com/?p=182
To solve this problem, simply remove the key "general.useragent.extra.firefox" and restart your browser. __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

CBinLA, I've just tested the PaleMoon 12.2.1 32bit with the 0.98.11 version and it works just fine.
According to my investigations, the problem here is being caused only by the two things: - Firefox x64bit (FireShot is incompatible with 64bit version) - Wrong value of the "general.useragent.extra.firefox" key __________________ FireShot Pro Pro Full Webpage Screenshots will be moving to a subscription model soon!

Makes sense. I bet is a 64bit FF issue that caused this problem. |
