Question

I am having off and on issues with not being able to send to OneNote with the "Error sending to OneNote: 80042001" error. I saw your other solutions about the version of Office and the location of files, but they don't make sense in this case because it works sometimes and not others. Either of those issues would be consistent. In addition, I do not have any way to reproduce when it works and when it does not work.

Can you share any insight into how this error is produced?

Windows 10, FireFox 67.0.4, FireShot Pro v0.98.96, Happens on all or no web pages sporadically.

Thank you for your update! Unfortunately, the links from Coursera cannot be re-opened by another person - it just returns the 404th error. Is it possible to send you a debug version of the SSS.dll in order to capture the produced by FireShot XML, that causes this error? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/onenote/error-codes-onenote

Thank you. Please download this archive: https://getfireshot.com/downloads/SSS_0_98_96_dbg.zip To install the debug version, please do the following: 1. Close all Firefox windows. 2. Open the navigator window (Win button + E) and put in the address field the following path: %appdata%\FireShot\Firefox 3. Locate the SSS.dll file and rename it to preserve the original version. 4. Extract the debugging version to this folder (you should've seen a newer version of SSS.dll in this folder). 5. Launch Firefox and try to re-create the error. Once you get this error, you'll have some debug data in your Clipboard - please share it with me. I very much appreciate your assistance.

Thank you. I checked the files and found that all these bugs happened at the same conditions - when you configured the export to OneNote to add a screenshot to an existing page (typically as a second capture). Is that right? Can you please send me a short video of this process? It's OK, if it finishes successfully. I'm asking for this video, because I tried to re-create this situation, but in all scenarios I could not get such an error, so I think I need more info, because my imagination is over.
